Margo's Bio

Margo is an audit partner who specializes in audit and review engagements for non-profit organizations, property and casualty insurance companies, employee benefit plans, and utilities. Margo serves on the firm’s accounting and audit committee.

A graduate of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business – Accounting Degree, Margo is professionally licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Margo takes an active role in her family and in serving her community. She is past Chair of the Amery Area Community Foundation and is the Organizational Leader of her local 4-H Club. She also enjoys watching her three children participating in sporting events and showing beef cattle.

Todd Anderson Partner Osceola

Todd's Bio

Todd is a partner in the Osceola and St. Croix Falls offices and is a member of the firm’s tax committee. Todd specializes in accounting, compilation, and tax services for businesses and individuals. He works closely with businesses in the real estate, mortgage, manufacturing, insurance, hospitality, medical, and various other professional industries.

Todd received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from University of Wisconsin – Superior. He is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Todd serves as the treasurer of Redeemer Lutheran Church and as the treasurer of the Osceola Mainstreet/Chamber of Commerce. He is also treasurer of a local rental company that focuses on commercial buildings and apartment rental properties. Todd is married to Rebecca and they reside in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, along with their two children, Hope and Trey.

Sam Fischenich New Ulm

Sam's Bio
Sam grew up in Windom, Minnesota, and his commitment to rural communities remains strong. He enjoys all that rural midwestern small-town life offers, from long-lasting friendships and family closeness to opportunities to positively and personally impact individuals and businesses through his work. A partner in the firm’s New Ulm, Minnesota, location, Sam specializes in providing and managing professional audit and review services for agribusiness entities and income tax planning preparation services for cooperatives and individuals.

Sam received his Bachelor of Arts degree in professional accountancy from Augustana College and maintains memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives.

Sam has numerous “go to” activities outside of work that include traveling and spending time with his wife, Kelsey, family, and friends. He competed in both high school and collegiate sports and retains his passion for sporting events, attending as often as possible. Sam also likes to get outdoors and particularly enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and canoeing.

Matt Guyer

Matt has more than 20 years of experience working in public accounting, specializing in tax services and consulting to a variety of industries and client types, including cooperatives, non-profit organizations, real estate entities, utilities, contractors, common interest realty associations, individuals, and many others.

His strong business and tax background make him a sought after reference source for both the firm’s clients and other professionals. Matt enjoys working with clients in structuring transactions to minimize income taxes. He often represents taxpayers during audits by various taxing authorities.

Matt serves as the partner in charge of Golden Valley and Maple Grove offices. He serves on the firm’s tax committee and is an active speaker at the firm’s educational events. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the North Hennepin Chamber of Commerce, and the North Central Chapter of the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives. Matt currently serves on the local board of the North Central Chapter of the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives.

Matt graduated from Minnesota State University – Mankato where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree Cum Laude. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities, golfing, and spending time with his wife Beth and their two children.

Jacob Holm New Ulm

Jake's Bio
Born and raised in New Ulm, Minnesota, Jake Holm has spent his life surrounded by the thriving agribusiness industry that defines this region. He serves as a partner at the firm’s New Ulm location, where he works with some of the industry’s finest cooperatives and ag-related businesses. Jake’s in-depth knowledge and extensive agribusiness experience guide each client interaction, from audits and other attestation services to tax and financial planning and preparation.

Active in his local community, Jake is a member of the New Ulm Jaycees and serves on the board of Intermediate School District 88 Foundation, whose purpose is raising and distributing supplemental funds to enhance area education and promote student achievement and development. A skilled hockey player, Jake not only plays on a men’s hockey league team, but also coaches youth level hockey.

Jake’s free time is focused on spending time with his family and travelling with his wife. He also finds the time to pursue his passion for the outdoors, hunting, camping, golfing and riding mountain bike.

Dirk A. Prindle Partner Amery

Dirk's Bio

Dirk works with a wide variety of clients, ranging from cooperatives to non-profit organizations. He is extensively involved with our cooperative clients, providing auditing, tax preparation, and consulting services. Dirk is also a tax partner, providing services for all taxation needs and clients. He keeps abreast of our clients’ industries through research and review of relevant weekly communications and updates.

Dirk is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, as well as other professional societies.

Dirk enjoys spending time with his family and is active with various local religious and community organizations.

Abigail Williamson Manager Amery

Abby's Bio
A partner in the firm’s Amery, Wisconsin office, Abby Williamson grew up on a dairy farm and has been involved in agribusiness her entire life. She currently focuses on providing supervision and performance of audits for numerous agribusiness and electric utility cooperatives, Her extensive base of experience is the foundation for Abby’s insight when tailoring services based on client need. Just as importantly, Abby’s passion for the industry ensures an effective and positive client experience.

Abby is an officer in the local chapter of the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives and is active in Amery Young Professionals (AYP).

Abby likes to relax outside of work with her husband and their golden retriever, Willow. They greatly enjoy the outdoors and can regularly be found fishing, camping, hunting, and kayaking, or simply soaking up the sun.

Roger's Bio
Roger Van Someren, one of the firm’s founding partners, not only guides CarlsonSV toward a cohesive, relevant future, but also provides audit, tax, and consulting services for a wide range of patron-owned farm supply, consumer, utility, and manufacturing cooperatives; other agribusiness entities; mutual insurance companies; and non-profit organizations.

More than 40 years of working with the cooperative system have convinced Roger that it is one of the best structures for business organization and operation. Based on democratic principles, cooperatives challenge member-owners to create an ethical organization sustained by sound managerial practices that provide strategic results.

Roger is equally committed to his local community, and is active in the Amery Community Club, the Association Retreat Center (ARC), and his church council.

Visiting his numerous grandchildren, traveling, biking, and hiking keep Roger on the go. His travel adventures range from a mission trip to Brazil, where the group participated in house painting and school and orphanage clean-up, to motorcycling with his wife in the local area or exploring farther afield.

Dean has been with the firm for more than 25 years. He graduated from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He has extensive experience with auditing and assurance services for non-public companies, non-profit organizations, and governmental entities. He specializes in cooperative auditing and taxation. He also has experience with tax services for individuals and corporations.

Dean is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives. He is also active in various community organizations.

Michelle specializes in tax preparation for individuals and small businesses, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and tax research. Michelle received her Bachelor Degree in Accounting from University of Wisconsin – River Falls and is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Outside the office, Michelle loves spending time with family and friends, playing cribbage and cards, and going to the family cabin.

Brittany started her career in the public accounting sector where her primary focus was electric cooperatives, employee benefit plans, and labor unions. From there she worked in the private sector and has recently held the position of CFO at a cooperative.

Brittany graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Tom’s experience includes development of a small tax and accounting practice into a diversified full service accounting firm, handling individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and estate tax returns, as well as certified audits, reviews, and compilations (grain elevators, government, and banks). He expanded the business development consulting division to provide project development services to industries including hospitality, agriculture, manufacturing, waste to energy, and renewable energy. He also led development of large scale renewable fuels projects worldwide including ethanol, algae, biomass, biodiesel, and wind projects, coordinating the entire lifecycle of biofuels and renewable energy start-up projects from conceptualization to construction.

Tom’s expertise includes conducting feasibility studies, preparing business plans, organizing equity, and structuring and negotiating debt with public and private financing organizations, as well as managing projects.

Tom recently served as the CFO of Gforce Digital Technologies, LLC, a group of technology and digital marketing companies, and he has also served as CFO and COO of a non-GMO/organic food ingredient processing company. His leadership and commitment to the algal industry began with his involvement with co-hosting both the inaugural Algae Biomass Summit and the second Summit in 2008. The Summits were the foundation for the establishment of the Algal Biomass Organization in 2008, where Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Board Secretary/Treasurer. He is also treasurer for the Algae Foundation organized in 2012.

Rick's Bio

Rick has been with the firm since 2000 and has his CPA certificates in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Rick practices in various income tax areas, including individual, business, non-profit, trust and estate. Rick is also very knowledgeable and experienced in small business taxation, planning, and consulting.

Rick received his Bachelor of Science from California State University in Long Beach. He is active in various community organizations and is also a member of the Amery City Council. He enjoys time with his family, and time golfing, hunting, and boating.

Cathy's Bio

Cathy specializes in tax planning and compliance for individuals, small businesses, trusts, and estates. She also provides services related to new business set-ups, management consulting, estate and trust planning, payroll and sales tax compliance and filings, QuickBooks, and general bookkeeping services and assistance. Cathy has over 30 years of tax and accounting experience.

She started her public accounting career with McGladrey in 1984, moving on as a partner with Guinn, Swiggum, Gille & Vinopal for 20 years, and leaving there to start her own firm in Amery, Wisconsin in 2009. She sold her practice and joined CarlsonSV in December 2014. Cathy is a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Sue's Bio

Sue began her accounting career by assisting her family with the farm books, and then gained additional experience through numerous jobs. After marrying her high school sweetheart and having two children, she decided to go to school and earn her degree. With more than 11 years of on-the- job training, Sue graduated in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a major in accounting. She works with all aspects of tax and accounting, and specializes in all facets of payroll.

Sue lives in Amery with her husband and their two dogs. She likes to spend her free time reading, golfing, and hanging out at their cabin near Gordon, Wisconsin.
